I purchased the BTR7 for the increase in power over the BTR5 and the 4.4 Pentacon connection.
While the bulk of my listening is portable audio, the extended battery life of the BTR7 means I can use it to take high resolution audio and feed it from the BTR7 directly into my HIFI system pure and direct… listening at concert levels…. Well till my neighbours complain and I get a grapefruit through the window…
The thing I miss the most on the BTR7 is the lack of a clip or holder to secure it to yourself while you are on the move…. This will force you to get inventive and sort out some sort of lanyard holder or in my case modifying an old multi tool pouch so I can clip it to my belt.
The battery life is reflected in the way it is used, if you are driving planar headphones through the 4.4mm connection… you might get 3 or 4 hours…. Listening to IEM’s through the 3.5mm connection and the battery life will double…
The other feature I found is the support of MOA encoded music from Tidal… this is awesome and something I enjoy listing to…
Interfacing with the BTR7 menus is best carried out using the Fiio Control App, which you can download along with firmware updates from the Fiio website.
I am very pleased with my purchase and can happily recommend the BTR7
Cheers
