Exceptional Hybrid Driver Configuration

The Kiwi Ears Canta features a sophisticated hybrid driver setup with one dynamic driver and two planar drivers, delivering exceptional audio performance. This innovative configuration provides enhanced texture and tonal richness across the entire frequency range. The combination of a full-sized dynamic driver and custom planar drivers ensures coherent sound reproduction with natural, robust tonal qualities, surpassing traditional balanced armature drivers.

Vocal-Centric Tonality

Named after its Italian inspiration for vocal excellence, the Canta is expertly tuned to accentuate both male and female vocals. It offers a rich midrange and crisp mid-treble transition, making vocals clear and prominent in any genre. The sub-bass delivers powerful impact and engaging kick bass, perfect for genres like pop, hip-hop, and rock. The natural warmth in the low-mid transition adds texture to vocals and instruments, while the treble remains clean and free from harshness. The result is a full, engaging, and well-balanced sound profile, ideal for audiophiles and music enthusiasts alike.

Professional-Grade Audio Reproduction

Designed for both avid music listeners and professional musicians, the Canta excels in delivering high-resolution audio. Its latest-generation drivers ensure detailed and accurate sound reproduction, making it a great choice for vocal performers, guitarists, pianists, and other audio professionals.

Handcrafted Quality

Each pair of Canta IEMs is meticulously handcrafted from medical-grade resin. The attention to detail in assembly and quality control ensures that each unit is precisely matched for optimal channel consistency and performance.

Custom Detachable Cable

The Canta includes a high-quality detachable cable with a 2-pin 0.78mm connector, allowing for easy customization and longevity. This design minimizes microphonics and ensures a clean signal from your device to the IEMs. The detachable nature of the cable also enables the use of alternative cables for added flexibility.

Kiwi Ears Canta

My new favorites

I'm not an IEM expert by any means, I just know what I like. These are super comfortable come with an awesome wire a decent case and they fit me perfect and sound excellent! I'm using the gray tips they come with. I tried the other two types but I prefer these. I have three other sets of iems. I do have a pair of iems that cost $200 and I do really like them, but these are even better somehow. And these even came with a better wire! Sound and music are very personal, what one person likes may be horrible for another person. That's why I only use reviews as a guide and not sacrilege haha! I would definitely recommend these to someone looking for something that sounds great and won't break the bank. I use them mostly with my Hiby R4. I've also used them with my steam deck and they are great for that too.

A Nice Set

These are well-built. I wish that Kiwi Ears included a nicer cable and nicer tips, but they are serviceable. The sound signature is neutral-bright. The upper mids and treble are a bit spicy. I added a 5mm 400 grade filter on the nozzle and that helped balance out the sound.

Kiwi Ears Canta - Planar dynamic drive! Hybrid station wagons with deep sound!

A year ago, I tested the Kiwi Ears Melody and it was a pleasant melodic headphones mainly for calm music.
I naively thought that Kiwi Ears Canta would be a logical continuation of Melody, but it turned out that the producers took a different path and I'm glad about it.
Catch the spoiler, my dear audiophiles: Canta turned out to be audacious, high-quality and very driving headphones!

And now about the nature of the headphones
The emphasis in the sound is on growling electric guitars, deep bass and dedicated percussion instruments.
Does it sound delicious? Of course))
According to their presentation, the headphones are pumped-up brutals who play with real muscles, not silicone implants.
For example, the composition Doro - Descent (feat. Pete Steele)
It all starts with a barrel and a snare drum, which are mixed with an electric overdrive.
Then the vocals of two performers appear, against which a meaty guitar sounds and a bunch of noise from guitar effects to create the scale of the composition.
All this in general sounds brutal, melodic and atmospheric (in terms of mood).
It is in heavy genres of music that these headphones show what they are really capable of.

The stage is of medium size, it is moderately distant and has a trapezoidal shape.
The vocals are perceived clean, with high resolution.

Low frequencies take the stated limit of 20 hz quite noticeably.
The bass is powerful, but not smeared, but assembled and detailed.
The midrange frequencies are well drawn, the instruments are reproduced fairly reliably, with their characteristic nuances.
The high frequencies have an emphasis on 12 kHz, which provides some shine and brightness.

The headphones play any genre of music well and beautifully, but they have no competitors in the heavy metal price range up to $150
I definitely recommend this model to those who want to get drive and emotions from listening to their favorite music!

nice vocal

Blisteringly Affordable Planar Performance

Should you buy the Canta? Well, that’s going to depend on your preferences. There’s a lot to love — a good accessory package, extremely aggressive pricing, and, of course, excellent bass. But do you love treble? Are you are willing to work with the Canta and select eartips, sources, and tracks that suite its style to get the most out of its drivers? Are you using a device with easy access to an EQ and love V-shaped sound signatures? If any of that describes you, buy it.

Listeners seeking warmth, smoothness, or a tame out-of-the-box treble will probably want to wait for Kiwi Ears next iteration of their planar hybrid IEMs. With how quickly Kiwi Ears is improving their lineup these days, you probably won’t have to wait long. Great job Kiwi Ears — you took a risk using a new driver technology and created a good, if somewhat polarizing, first-generation IEM.

Bright and emotional V-shaped sound

A pleasant sound for those who like colors in music. Great bass, good treble processing, a little distant middle.
