Got sent a defective item, with constant crackling and poping, no returns allows since “package was open” was offered a inspection on item to see if they could fix it but the wait time was not worth the 2 or 3 weeks, when it does work rhe amp/dac is amazing it’s a very warm amp/dac and great for gaming music and movies, it’s with the $200 a great piece of product, you won’t ever need to upgrade from it, as it gives you everything you need
Originally got these with a hifiman xs of which it was able to drive to ear bleeding volumes. Currently running an aeon noire off of it and it gets much louder than I was expecting.
As the review title suggests, this is a perfect small dac/amp combo with bluetooth. The measurements are great, no distortions at all. The sound signature is close to neutral, which is great for most of the headphones, although, if the headphones are peaky in the treble area, this dac will emphasize it even more.
Power is enogh (even overkill) for headphones that I use, Focal Celestee and Hifiman Ananda, so I think it is enough for almost all but a extra power hungry headphones.
One gripe I have is that 4.4mm output is not “true” balanced. I do not hear any audible difference between two outputs, maybe 5% louder, but still it’s nice to have an option.
Overall, this is one of the best price to performance dac/amps around. In my opinion, it is better than Topping DX3 Pro+.
