I purchased this unit quite some time ago, but have been able to use them only for half the time and I will explain why in a bit.
I don't have the talent with words to describe it, but overall sound is decent and on the warm side of tuning. For the price, they indeed do sound well with variety of music, without causing fatigue. I've used them directly from my OP7T and also from FiiO BTR3 and both work fine.
The fit is good and once in place, they rarely get loose and I have to refit them. They don't stick out much, which is a good thing in general. The added amount of ear tips is also good and sufficient helping with finding a good fit for all ear types.
Finally I come to the cable and the overall downfall of these IEMs and why I have hard time recommending them at this price point. The first cable I received, broke within 2 weeks.
It was the one with mic and the part where the mic/volume hardware is, broke, exposing the cable inside and making it impossible to use. This caused that side to lose sound. It took a while to get replacement and when I received it, I noticed it had the exact same design flaw in it, and I am very positive that it will break as well.
The problem is in the way the mic/volume control part is connected to the cable between it and the earphone. The plastic/rubber piece is very fragile and it requires a little bit of flexion to break and expose the cable. In addition, the buttons on it are horrible and it is very difficult to know what you are pressing unless you look at them.
Although I have the replacement (which btw is very stiff, as was the original), I had to buy another cable at additional cost of more than half the money I paid for the IEMs. As such the overall price reaches potentially better pairs of IEMs and thus the Salnotes should either be offered without a cable, at slightly lower price, or with better cable, though this will require price adjustment upwards...or just don't offer cable with mic/volume.
In either case, if you already have spare cables and are curious of the sound, buy them, otherwise do consider other options, or keep above in mind and maybe not buy the cable with mic.
