About R2R Technology
For those seeking precise sound reproduction and authentic analog signal conversion, R2R technology is the ideal choice. R2R DACs convert digital signals into true analog signals through a resistor network. Unlike the widely used Delta-Sigma (Δ-Σ) and 1-bit technologies, which approximate analog signals by modulating digital data into sequences of 0s and 1s, R2R DACs avoid these inherent errors and can accurately reproduce even DC signals.
Proprietary R2R Architecture
Our design features 32 ultra-high-precision resistors per channel, totaling 64 resistors, to form a fully discrete R-2R DAC circuit. With 64 resistors each offering a 0.1% tolerance, this uncompromising precision ensures unmatched audio fidelity.

It is a very musical source, there is some kind of appeal in the sound.
There is a certain solidity about Hartfield, there is a feeling that you are listening to a more serious source than a portable dac amplifier.
The sound of the R2R differs from commercial chips, and differs in a more adult pitch.
The HeartField R1 is quite bass, with proper and very tasty bass transmission.
The middle is lamp-like, warm, but at the same time clear and not blurred, with a decent transfer of nuances in this range.
The bass is deep, elastic and at the same time soft.
Such low frequencies, but all sources would.
High frequencies have a pleasant smoothness and beautiful separate percussion.
They are well controlled without showing any sibilants.
